How do I create and send a screenshot?

When you're reporting a problem to the clixifix® support team, capturing and sending an image of your computer screen can help us better understand your issue.

The process used to create a screenshot depends on the operating system of your computer/mobile device.

For Windows Users:
  1. On the screen, you want to capture, hold down Alt and Print Screen, then release all.
  2. Open a Word document and click the open document.
  3. Hold down Ctrl and V, then release all.
  4. Save the Word document as a file on your desktop for quick access later.
For Mac OSX Users:
  1. On the screen, you want to capture, hold down Command, Shift and 3, then release all.
  2. The screen capture will appear as a picture file on your desktop.

Note: Mac Mail users should make sure that the attachment is "Windows-friendly":

  3. Click File in the Mail toolbar.
  4. Click Attach Files.
  5. Choose your image file.
  6. Select "Send Windows-Friendly Attachments".
  7. Click Choose File.

From the clixifix® support web form, click Browse to locate and attach the screenshot file.

If you're sending your screenshot in an email message to support@clixifix.co.uk, use the Attach feature provided by your webmail or email client.

Mobile devices can have different ways to capture the screen image and we would urge users to look at the instructions for this on the internet.
